Meet Lucy & her daughter Amanda!
In honor of Direct Support Professionals Week, we would like to share stories of our DSPs here at The Arc of Marion County, FL.
Meet Lucy and her daughter, Amanda. Lucy patiently waited for many years for Amanda to get approved for the medical waiver. When Amanda was finally approved, Lucy knew exactly where to go – The Arc of Marion! Fortunately, we had an opening in our Adult Day Training (ADT) program for Amanda. We loved Lucy’s mom so much, we offered her a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Position. Lucy is also a trained driver & takes our participants on outings everyday.
We are proud to have this mother and daughter team as part of The Arc of Marion family.
